Cozy, seasonal flavors to warm up your guests.

As things get hotter in the Austin area, the drinks need to get colder. I for one don’t want to drink a red wine when it’s 95 degrees out, but again that is just me. Below I took the liberty as an event bartender for over 10 years to put together a list of fan and personal favorites that have kept crowds pleased throughout my years. Make sure you have a glass of something on hand because you are sure to get thirsty looking at all these delicious cocktails.
Signature picks
Ranch Water: The. Austin. Staple. There is a distinct chance people drink ranch waters more than they drink water in the greater Austin area. People either ask for it or ask for a tequila soda with a splash of lime, which is the same thing. Some say it's only a ranch water with Topo Chico (a sparkling water), but most can't taste the differance.
Recipe: 2oz Tequila, 1-1.5 oz Lime Juice, Top with Topo Chico (or any other sparkling soda water), Garnish with lime.

Paloma: My personal favorite for a hot day. It simpy is just a refreshing drink and I would say ranks among the top 5 drinks ordered when the sun starts kicking into high gear. Delicious, simple, and pretty looking. Can't go wrong with it.
Recipe: 2oz Tequila, 4 oz Grapefruit Soda, 1/2oz Lime Juice, Pinch of Salt, Garnish with Grapfruit or Lime Slice (Splash of orange juice optional)

Classic Margarita: "That was so stupid putting a margarita on the menu." Said nobody even at any point in history. You cannot go wrong with this classic cocktail. Crisp and refreshing and the most common drink ordered apart from perhaps an old fashioned (which is also good, but not on the list). Add it no matter what.
Recipe: 2oz Tequila, 1oz Orange Liqueur, 1oz Lime Juice, 1/4 oz Simple Syrup, Garnish with Lime Wedge.

Aperol Spritz: The patio classic that refuses to go out of style. I very much enjoy this drink in both making it and drinking. It’s sophisticated, bittersweet, and a great balance of orange and gentian. Light, bubbly, and low-ABV enough to keep you sharp and social for whatever the occasion. It also looks very nice on an instagram feed. Highly recommended.
Recipe: 3oz Proseco, 2oz Aperol, 1oz Club Soda, All Over Ice, Garnish with Orange Slice.

Mojito: Now this is a bit of a workout for the bartender, but that being said it's worth it. This thing is liquid air conditioning. When that fresh mint hit's you you'll know what I'm taking about. It's a breezy walk on the beach and although this is on the bottom of the list it fall at number 2 in my heart for a phenomenal hot day drink.
Recipe: 6 mint leaves, 1/2 oz of Simple Syrup, 1oz Lime Juice (Then muddle the 3), 2oz White Rum, Top with Club Soda, Garnish with Mint Leaf and Lime Wedge.

A little pro tip is that pre-batching some cocktails, while not as luxurious, can save time and keep customers happy. When the guest count is large and the number of bartedners isn't, consider the path ahead. Grab those ingredients and start mixing.
Well that about wraps things up on our end. We hope this helps in a tough decision of which drinks to serve you or your thristy companions. If you don't like any of these please be sure to not let us know. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day.
